Iris Giannakopoulou loves travelling and sketching - in a meditative motion- as a means to understand the world around her.
She sketches instead of writing: her personal text is a distinctive black line which captures fleeting images as a means to expand experiential place and assign duration to momentary time.
In her exhibitions, the sketches are detached from the sketchbooks’ narrative continuity, rearranged and magnified; by inviting us to immerse into their dense lines and clarity of color, Iris’ drawings call us to imagine or recall our own journeys within them anew.
